Nicholas C. Petris Center on Health Care Markets and Consumer Welfare

The Nicholas C. Petris Center is a health economics research center that conducts empirical research on important health policy topics. Its mission is to guide public policy by conducting research needed to understand complex healthcare markets. The Center's current research focuses on estimating the impacts of market concentration on healthcare prices and quality, coupled with analyzing policies and regulations to improve competition. Other research areas include the health workforce, integrated care, universal health insurance initiatives, and mental health, particularly in California. The Petris Center focuses on consumer protection, affordability, and access to health care, especially for low and middle-income individuals.
