Health information and health care are becoming more complex. For people with limited literacy skills, the challenge can be overwhelming. Lack of understanding can lead to poor health outcomes, excess hospitalization, and increased costs.
Health Research for Action works with many partners to promote policies that improve health and positively shape our communities. Through our studies, periodical, policy briefings and stakeholder meetings, we advance changes in health systems, regulations, and public programs.
Americans need good information, on exercise, parenting, health care, and many other issues. We help you develop large-scale multi-media campaigns based on best practices in health communication.
HRA’s team includes epidemiologists, medical sociologists, gerontologists, and specialists in health literacy and translational research. We employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to create the most effective research designs.
New Media—the merging of traditional media with interactive computer-enabled consumer devices and the Internet—has become integrated into the lives of billions. Effective New Media for health needs to be innovative, engaging, and easy-to-use.
At HRA, we work with a wide variety of populations in conducting research and developing resources. We develop collaborative relationships with community groups serving specific populations.
