Center for Health Technology

Berkeley Center for Health Technology (BCHT) promotes the efficiency and effectiveness of health care through research and education on the development, insurance coverage, payment, and appropriate use of medical technologies.

Their focus is on biopharmaceuticals, implantable medical devices, insurance benefit design, and payment methods. Research initiatives include leadership roundtables, case studies of leading organizations, and econometric analyses of public and private data sources. Educational initiatives include courses and workshops for Berkeley students in public health (MPH), public policy (MPP), and business management (MBA), plus programs for executives and professionals in the health technology and service sectors.

Their success will be measured by the extent to which we help our stakeholders create a health care system of which we all can be proud, one that combines innovation and entrepreneurship with economic efficiency and social fairness.
