Numata Center for Buddhist Studies

Buddhist traditionsThe Numata Center for Buddhist Studies oversees a variety of research programs, scholarly events, and outreach activities, often in collaboration with units on and off campus. Activities include a colloquium series, conferences, a visiting scholar program, a film series (with the PFA), the Silk Road Initiative, and the Numata Visiting Professorship. In Fall 2009, the Center also launched two new initiatives: the Shinnyo-en Postdoctoral Fellowship in Buddhist Studies and the Toshihide Numata Book Prize.
