Policies on the Use of Controlled Substances in Research

Principal Investigators are responsible for ensuring that all requirements are met for any controlled substances used in the course of their research. At UC Berkeley the Office of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) coordinates the implementation of these requirements. Please consult with the EHS Program on Controlled Substances Used in Research for up-to-date information, application forms and requirements. UC Berkeley's requirements conform with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) mandates for the use of controlled substances in research.
