Research Description

Neil Gilbert is the Milton and Gertrude Chernin Professor of Social Welfare and Social Services. Dr. Gilbert is director of the Center for Comparative Welfare State Research and was the founding director of the Family Welfare Research Group. His research interests include: design and evaluation of social service delivery systems; theoretical framework for social policy analysis; evaluative research; the welfare state; administration and organizational theory; family policy and child abuse prevention; comparative social welfare.
