Data Science, AI & Robotics
Overview
Data is changing the way we live our lives, from how we make decisions about our health and the environment to how we provide essential services. As part of this rapid transformation, Berkeley researchers are re-envisioning data science methods, AI and computing capabilities as well as community engagement that shape society’s relationship to technology. Berkeley researchers are finding today’s data science solutions for our most urgent problems, laying a foundation for a dynamic, equitable and accessible field for years to come.
Groundbreaking research at the Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society, the College of Engineering, the School of Information and across the campus tackles society’s greatest challenges. Research centers and institutes bring together faculty from a variety of disciplines to work on the most complex problems, including the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR) Lab, Sky Computing and EPIC Data Lab.
