Vadim Gorin with book "Probability" by Albert Shiryaev

Research Bio

Vadim Gorin is a mathematician and statistician whose research focuses on probability theory, random matrices, and statistical mechanics. He studies the asymptotic behavior of large stochastic systems and their connections to combinatorics and representation theory. Gorin’s work bridges mathematics and physics to uncover universal patterns in complex systems. His research informs modeling in data science and theoretical physics.

He is a Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at UC Berkeley. He mentors students in probability, mathematical physics, combinatorics, representation theory, and statistical theory.
