Research Bio

Sa-kiera Tiarra Jolynn Hudson studies hierarchies: How hierarchies are formed, how they are maintained, and how they intersect. To answer these questions, she focuses on the role of i) empathic and spiteful emotions in supporting intergroup harm, ii) group stereotypes in the experience and perception of prejudice, and iii) motivated reasoning in justifying unequal societal conditions.

She is an assistant professor in Management of Organizations at Berkeley Haas. She received her BA in psychology and biology from Williams College and her PhD in social psychology from Harvard University. Before coming to Haas, she was an NSF postdoctoral fellow in psychology at Yale University.
