Research Bio
Paolo Mancosu is Willis S. and Marion Slusser Professor of Philosophy at the University of California at Berkeley. His interests lie in the philosophy of mathematics and its history, in philosophy of logic, and in mathematical logic. In these areas he the author of numerous articles and books. He is also the author of five books and several articles on the editorial history of Doctor Zhivago. During his career he has taught at Stanford, Oxford, and Yale. He has been a fellow of the Humboldt Stiftung, of the Wissenschaftskollegzu Berlin, of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and of the Institut d'Études Avancées in Paris. He has received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the NSF, and the CNRS. In 2021-2022 he was a visiting professor at the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne as Chaire d’excellence internationale Blaise Pascal.
