Research Description
Maura Nolan works on late medieval English literature, with a special focus on the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries and the vexed relationship between the medieval and Renaissance periods. She is especially interested in the relationship between history and the forms through which it is made legible, as well as in the aesthetic as a medieval and modern concept. Her current project focuses on Fortune and sensory aesthetics in the work of John Gower.
