Joni Nikkanen is an assistant professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology. His research group studies the neurobiology of peripheral metabolism. Specifically, the current focus of his lab is to define neuronal mechanisms that control liver function. Their lab is at the forefront of exploring the brain-body connections, uncovering innovative approaches to improving human health.
