Research Description

J. Theodore Peña studies the archaeology of Roman and pre-Roman Italy, with particular emphasis on the Rome area, ceramic analysis, Roman material culture, and the economy of the Roman world. He currently directs two research projects in Italy - the Palatine East Pottery Project, in Rome, and the Pompeii Artifact Life History Project, at Pompeii.
