Hannes Bajohr is a literary scholar and digital humanist whose research explores modern and contemporary German literature, aesthetics, and digital textuality. His work examines the relationship between technology and literary form, with a focus on how computation transforms reading, authorship, and interpretation. He is best known for his studies on digital poetics and the philosophical implications of algorithmic writing. Bajohr’s research integrates literary theory, philosophy, and media studies to rethink creativity in the digital age.
He is a professor in the Department of German at UC Berkeley, where he teaches courses on modern German literature, philosophy, and digital humanities.
