Research Bio
Christopher Fletcher is an Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is a Computer Architect with broad interests in adjacent areas. Recently, a lot of his work has been at the intersections of Architecture, Security (from applied cryptography to hardware-based attacks and defenses) and Domain-Specific Acceleration (from algorithm to hardware design). These and related works have been awarded 24 paper awards, the University of Illinois Outstanding Promotion Award, the College of Engineering Dean's Award for Excellence in Research, the C.W. Gear Outstanding Junior Faculty Award, election to the DARPA ISAT study group, the Intel Rising Star Award, the Intel CRC Outstanding Researcher Award, the NSF CAREER award, a Google Faculty Award, the George M. Sprowls Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis in Computer Science at MIT, NSF/NDSEG fellowships and were listed as one of ten ``World Changing Ideas'' designations by Scientific American.
