Research Description
Ajay Manthripragada is Assistant Professor of Architecture. Manthripragada’s current research and practice focus on projects in India and California, including a 180-bed junior college dormitory in Mangaluru and an artist’s studio south of San Francisco. He recently completed a year-long fellowship at the American Academy in Rome as winner of the 2024 Lily Auchincloss Rome Prize in Architecture, where he researched forms of architectural terra cotta. Themes covered in recent teaching include the shifting juridical landscape of California housing and the study of extracanonical references in the design process.
