Research Bio
Thomas Courtade is an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department at UC Berkeley, whose research centers on information theory, statistical learning, and data privacy. He develops theoretical frameworks for understanding how information can be efficiently and securely transmitted, processed, and learned from data. His work advances connections between information theory, high-dimensional statistics, and machine learning.
