Research Bio
Ty Alper is a Clinical Professor of Law at U.C. Berkeley School of Law, where he co-directs the Death Penalty Clinic and the Berkeley Law Clinical Program. Before joining Berkeley Law in 2004, Ty Alper was a staff attorney at the Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta, a law clerk for a federal appellate judge in Washington, D.C., and an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown Law School. He was also elected to two terms on the Berkeley School Board. He has written extensively about criminal justice, the death penalty, and clinical legal education.
