Research Bio
Jenna Nobles is a demographer and sociologist who studies fertility, migration, and health over the lifecourse. Her work uses large-scale data to examine how environmental, social, and policy changes affect people's decisions about where to live and whether to have children. Nobles’ research combines demographic methods with computational modeling to advance understanding of population dynamics and patterns in population health and welfare. She is Professor in the Department of Demography at UC Berkeley, where she teaches courses in population science and directs interdisciplinary research on migration and reproductive health.
