Research Bio
YoungJu Jo is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and the Brody Family Faculty Fellow at UC Berkeley, where he leads a research program at the intersection of neurobiology and engineering. His research integrates systems and computational neuroscience with optical and genetic engineering. His laboratory develops and applies next-generation neurotechnologies to measure, model, and control neural dynamics and computation in behaving animals. Together, these efforts advance a long-term vision for bidirectional brain-computer interfaces capable of writing complex information into the brain.
