Research Description

Professor Morrill is the author of multiple books, including Navigating Conflict: How Youth Handle Trouble in a High-Poverty School (with Michael Musheno; University of Chicago Press, 2018), Together Alone: Personal Relationships in Public Places (co-edited with David Snow and Cindy White; University of California Press, 2005), and The Executive Way: Conflict Management in Corporations (University of Chicago Press, 1995).  His work also has appeared in multiple journals, including the American Journal of Sociology, Administrative Science Quarterly, Annual Review of Sociology, Annual Review of Law and Social Science, Ethnography, Law & Social Inquiry, Law & Society Review, and Social Problems.  He has received scholarly awards from the American Sociological Association, Academy of Management, Law & Society Association and Pacific Sociological Association.  He is currently engaged in collaborative research projects on law and collective civic engagement among diverse young adults from under-resourced communities, law and entrepreneurship among immigrants, and rights mobilization in schools.
