Research Description

Roger Purves is interested in the foundations of probability theory and measurability. As an instructor of large, lower division, introductory courses, he is concerned with the obstacles that stand in the way of non-technical people trying to grasp statistical ideas. He is an author, along with David Freedman and Robert Pisani, of the widely used text, STATISTICS.
