Research Description

Paulo Monteiro is a Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. He has published over 300 archival papers, and he co-authored a comprehensive textbook on concrete that is widely used and has been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, and Persian. He has been elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and has received the following awards for this research: Stephen Brunauer Award (twice), Premio Ari Torres, and Wa-son Medal for Materials Research.
