Professor Enlists Android Phones in Search for Black Holes

UC Berkeley computer scientist, David Anderson, was featured in Wired magazine for his work with the SETI@Home project.

SETI@Home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. It works by convincing everyday users to allow SETI@Home to borrow their computers when they aren’t using them to help “search out new life and new civilizations”.  

Anderson and his team have recently updated the software so that the program can now run on smartphones and tablets, increasing the amount of machines that can help search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
